Sorry for the late response, I haven’t checked my tumblr in months. To answer your questions, yes I still work at CDI. Your experience with CDI will depend on what branch you go to and how competent your management is. I know a lot of people who work at CDI and their experiences vary, some horrible, some ok, and some good. Another downside is the lack of vacation time (only 10 days unpaid), and you will get no holidays off (except for Chuseok and Korean New Years). So a lot of times I’m working while my friends are enjoying delicious beers in the sun and I feel like a caged bird looking out my classroom window wanting to fly away…LOL. However, the one benefit of working at CDI is the pay, which is relatively high compared to other Hagwons. In terms of teaching classes, once you learn the curriculum and get the hang of it, it’s easy.
So, basically, if you want to make a lot of money and save up, then CDI would be good for you. BUT, if you want to enjoy Korea more and take vacations around Asia, then I would recommend another job.
Hope this helped.
Kendrick Lamar - “Backseat Freestyle”
“good kid, m.A.A.d city” (2012)
Been listening to this album since its release, and still on repeat, one of my fav tracks
Hiked Dobongsan with my brother (visiting right now), uncle and his family over Chuseok weekend. The hike was fairly easy, it took about 1.5 with a a few breaks. Scattered around Korea are many mountains, and thus it is no surprise that Koreans take hiking pretty seriously, it is part of the culture here.
Me and my older brother, David
Aunt, Uncle, and cousins
Walking to the mountain from the subway station
Planning our route
These are the walls of a temple at the bottom of the mountain
Coincidentally, my moms Korean name inscribed on a stone at the entrance
On my way out of the temple
So much green
Making our way up to the top
People resting, about quarter of the way up
Almost at the top
View of Seoul
Found a chill spot, setting up our picnic
There are birds chilling in the trees at the top of the mountain, and they eat various types of nuts, so…
We put almonds on my cousins hair and this is what happened, lol
At the bottom, drank more and ate Bossam at a Tofu house
Fresh Tofu being made
At another restaurant, eating grilled fish
If anyone in Korea wants to check out this mountain its off line line 7 and 1, Northern Seoul.
